Would I recommend Castle European? You would be crazy to go anywhere else!

I first became aware of Castle European, Sarah and Trevor nearly 2 years ago - recommended by friends of ours. They are based in Greenhithe (Auckland) not far from where Annie and I live.

ne meeting was all it took to realise that this was the team to assist us in importing a Motorhome from the UK to New Zealand.

Covid started to happen so the project went on hold for many months. We still received regular updates from Sarah who kept in touch with the UK company.

It finally become a reality when our motorhome was built and delivered to the UK dealership.

The nightmare of paperwork was handled by Sarah with great communication to us every step of the way.

Payments, currency conversions, arranging shipping, customs and all the other documentation that was involved. The service did not stop there. Compliance was arranged and completed in Auckland.

Delivery day was exciting with everything legal and roadworthy. The original estimate costs was spot on.

The only change was shipping costs which were a bit out of control, which we were aware of.

Would I recommend Castle European? You would be crazy to go anywhere else!

I would like to just say a few words in thanks for the fabulous service you, at Castle European have given.

As you would expect we were very concerned about our Motorhome travelling all the way from the UK to New Zealand without us, but with your help it's happened smoothly and successfully.

Even during the tricky times that Covid has given us, you have been patient and taken each obstacle thrown at you in your stride. It has given us peace of mind that you had it all covered at every step.

The extended period of storage we needed through lockdown was handled with ease and nothing seemed too difficult for you.

Castle European managed everything

Thank you, Trevor and Sarah, for all your help and expertise in importing our motor home.

We travelled around Europe in our motor home for six months, as we still had three months holiday left, we had to trust a company to bring our home back safe and sound!

We were kept fully informed throughout the process and Castle European managed everything. We simply dropped off our motor home at the port ready to be shipped and continued with our travels. They organised the fumigation, shipping and customs, right through to the on-road compliance here in New Zealand.

We paid direct to the suppliers, shipping, customs, etc, when Castle European invoiced us. They even helped us with our New Zealand insurance, including lodging the Global Fiat Warranty. Nothing was too much trouble. When the motor home arrived into New Zealand, we realised we were missing a vital bit of paper work, so Trevor and Sarah worked tirelessly to get this sorted - once again, we thank you!

Responsive and helpful from the first contact

I can really recommend Castle European to anyone considering importing a motor home to New Zealand.

In 2019, I contacted Sarah and Trevor Lay at Castle European for information relating to the import process.

From the first contact they were responsive, helpful and provided a detailed, itemised breakdown of the export and import requirements, and the costs I could expect .

This made me realise it was not something I wanted to do myself, yet gave me real confidence to go forward.

I arranged to buy a Burstner Lyseo Harmony - a great van - in UK and did this in August 2019.

Unfortunately, due to a change of circumstances I needed to export the vehicle earlier than planned - Sarah and Trevor made the whole process easy.

The van was dropped off at the UK port in February 2020 and I picked it up (due to Covid intervening) in November. Castle European stored it safely in the interim.

It was fuelled and completely ready to roll and my only task was to organise the insurance. It couldn’t have been easier and was money very well spent.

In addition to doing a great job of navigating all the numerous requirements for export and import, Sarah and Trevor were always approachable and friendly. Sarah even went beyond the brief at pick up, and took me to stock up with groceries to avoid negotiating a tight carpark on my first day - much appreciated.

All in all, a worry-free and very personal import experience - you can’t go wrong with Castle European!

So easy and straightforward

Our experience using Castle European to ship our motorhome to New Zealand was excellent. Sarah and Trevor made it so easy and straightforward at every stage.

The information and help given in the planning, export from the UK and import into NZ, conversion to NZ specs and pick-up when we arrived could not be faulted. There are obviously lots of documents, forms and the like to go through, money has to be paid to various people - NZ government, shipping company etc. All of this was straightforward and because we were kept well informed in advance so were well prepared for it.

When we wanted to sell our motorhome after our extended trip of almost eight months, they were more than happy to give advice and help in any and every way they could.

Invaluable insight and guidance

We worked with Paul over the past six months to select, purchase, outfit and import our motorhome into New Zealand. We purchased it in the UK and drove it throughout Europe before shipping it back to NZ and getting it fully converted to NZ requirements.

Clear, concise and timely communication

Back in 2021 we began planning a european holiday for summer 2022 and started pricing up motorhome rentals. It quickly became apparent that we could stay in 5 star hotels for less money.

We gave up on that idea and turned to google to find the price of motorhomes in Europe and what was involved if we wanted to ship the vehicle back to New Zealand after our holiday.

I contacted several importers and discussed our plans and quickly decided that we wanted to go with Castle European, looking back it wasn’t a hard decision.

I got the impression that Sarah and Trevor were a small and experienced operation that would be familiar with people like us who had no idea how the process worked, and would be more than comfortable and patient answering our questions and concerns. It was a very good decision.

A seamless and effortless experience

We contacted Castle European Ltd early in our exploration of purchasing a motorhome in Europe, enjoying a holiday there, before shipping it back home to New Zealand for our continued holiday pleasures.
